Parrka was created as a clean break from the sonics, silhouette and form of VRITRA.

Parrka is loud and unconventional, genderless, formless, socially aware alternative rap delivered with a  sharp and refined perspective and expression. Whereas VRITRA would lean into underground experimental, braggadocious and at times, self-critical raps, Parrka blends elements of rap, rock, pop and dance into potent, audible works of art and social commentary.

A LEGACY THAT SPANS A DECADE

Hal Williams has spent 15+ years building one of the most complete underground hip-hop résumé of their generation: one of the architects of NRK, an Atlanta based collective who's work and collaborations feature artists like Syd, Mike G, Gary Wilson, and Vince Staples, half of the left-field Odd Future sub-group (Jet Age of Tomorrow), signed to one of the most respected indie imprints in hip-hop history (Stones Throw), and across-Atlantic alliance Wilmavritra that has garnered acclaim and placements with brands like O2 UK and in TV and Film (HBO max) They did all of this without radio, without compromise, without pause. Their work has been highlighted in the fader, prefix, pigeons and planes, billboard, Four to the floor (UK), Fox News, PBS, and more. Now, they embark on a new endeavor as Parrka.
